Ethics
We will promote and model equitable community development & holistic land use, create affordable housing, and protect prime agricultural land in the North Fork Valley by establishing a Community Land Trust and catalyzing local action. The initial development will offer a demonstration site for community-minded, green-built housing integrated with best practices in organic regenerative agriculture.
Vision
We will build the capacity to move local government in the direction of holistic land use planning and management. We will encourage civic engagement and partner with a diverse range of allies and be a hub for meeting the challenges of growth, affordable housing, and desertification. As a community land trust, we will model innovative approaches to water and soil stewardship, housing construction, renewable energy, permaculture-based agriculture, and the social skills and values required for cooperation and enduring success.
Ethics Statement
- At the heart of the CLT movement is the transition of land from the speculative market into community stewardship, in perpetuity.
- We prioritize building relationships with land owners and transitioning land into the Community Land Trust before it goes on the market.
- We practice transparency around power dynamics and potential conflicts of interest within CLT governance.
